Engineered for photographers, hybrid shooters, and filmmakers, the L-308X-U features an innovative sliding lumisphere mechanism that allows seamless switching between incident light readings (for three-dimensional subject illumination) and reflected light readings via an integrated lens with a 40-degree reception angle (for flat-field subjects and contrast evaluation).

The meter delivers precise exposure data with a rated repeatability variance of just ±0.1 EV. It covers an extensive ambient measuring range from EV 0 to 19.9 at ISO 100 with shutter speeds ranging from 1/8000 second to 60 seconds, as well as a wide flash metering range from f/1.0 to f/90.9 at ISO 100 via either a standard PC sync cord or cordless flash triggering. The L-308X-U provides three dedicated metering modes: Photo Mode for traditional shutter- and aperture-priority exposure control, HD Cine Mode tailored for DSLR and mirrorless video workflows, and Cine Mode for motion picture cameras featuring frame rates from 8 to 128 fps, shutter angles, and tenth-stop readout precision. All exposure data is displayed on a customizable, high-contrast LCD screen equipped with automatic backlighting that engages in dim environments under EV 5.
